Agaghị m anọ na mmiri ka ncha baa m n’anya.

Use what you have to avoid a preventable problem.

Literal translation: I will not stand in water and let soap enter my eyes.
Explanation: Someone surrounded by water can rinse the soap away. The proverb questions needless suffering when help is at hand.
When to use it: When a person can prevent a problem with the means already available.
